Covert Spy Sunglasses
Spy Sunglasses capture anything you may be looking directly at. Used extensively by law enforcement, these high resolution camera glasses are available to the general public as either a wired or wireless spy device. Many models are available using CCD image sensor technology which perform well in low light. Spy sunglasses utilize 2 technologies either, wired or wireless. Obviously the wireless technology is much more covert as there are no wires to conceal. The electronic video is captured by the glasses and transmitted to a remote receiver, usually placed in a pocket out of sight. The data is recorded to an SD card for later playback.
Applications
Anytime wearing sunglasses will be normal and you need to capture evidence that may be within your moving field of view. More than likely, you would use these when in outdoor situations for obvious reasons.
Equipment Needed for Playback
You'll need a DVR player, PC or laptop to playback footage caputered to the receivers SD card. Most laptops don't support SD type input but you can easily convert the SD connection down to a USB connection then go straight into the laptop.
Special Considerations
Placement - Wireless models transmit signals to a remote receiver usually about 18" to 20" away from the glasses. Wired models connect using a wire from the glasses to the recording device. Of course wires will need to be concealed by clothing, wigs or hats. Covert Body Worn Sunglasses wireless system uses one of our transmitters about 18" away from the camera so it can be placed in a pocket or worn on a belt.
Dim light - We've seen many of these advertised that work well at a .05 lux ( dark night with quarter moon)
Video vs audio We've seen these available as video capturing devices only - no audio is available.
B/W vs Color If you need to capture color video expect lower resolution in darker enviornments. Some models decreased from 400 lines to 380.
Price Range
We've seen wireless Spy sunglasses cameras starting at about $300. The older wired models are more inexpensive.
